Overview of Book
This course will continue our discussion of Aqeedah moving on to the most well-known text of Sunni Aqeedah elucidating the beliefs of Ahl’ul Sunnah wal’Jama’ah according to the understanding of the Hanafi madhab.
Learning Objectives
- Be able to explain to objectives and benefits of studying aqeedah
- If given the arabic, students will be able to accurately translate and explain the text
- Have an appreciation of how the study of Aqeedah affects and informs our outlook on life as Muslims
- Have an appreciation of the role of naql and aql in the establishment and derivation of the points of Aqeedah and their evidences.
Homework expectations
- Students should review each lesson’s material and make a note of key vocabulary/grammatical features necessary to understand the text.
- Make a recording of their own reading of each class’s Arabic text. This does not need to be from memory, but should be read smoothly and without hesitation.
